Why we're different

What sets our GRP roofing apart

GRP (fibreglass) is laid as a liquid resin over a matting layer and cures into one seamless, joint-free surface, which is what makes it one of the most waterproof flat roof systems available. There's no seams to fail and no felt edges to lift. The trade-off is that it only performs as well as the person laying it, a poorly prepared deck or rushed lay-up leads to cracking and delamination. We prepare the deck properly, apply the correct number of laminate layers, and finish with a UV-stable top coat so the roof doesn't degrade in the sun.

What you get

Every grp fibreglass roofing job includes

  • Full deck inspection and preparation before laying
  • Correct fall assessed and corrected where needed
  • Fibreglass matting laminated in the specified number of layers
  • UV-stable top coat to prevent sun degradation
  • Trims and upstands detailed for a fully seamless finish
  • Site left clean with old covering removed and disposed of
Is it right for you?

Who grp fibreglass roofing suits

  • Dormers, balconies and porch roofs where a completely seamless finish matters
  • Anyone who's had repeated felt or EPDM joint failures and wants a one-piece alternative
  • Extensions and garages where a durable, low-maintenance flat roof is the priority

Spread the cost

0% finance is available on roofing work over £1,500, subject to status. We'll talk you through the options during your free inspection, no obligation either way.

How it works

Getting your roof sorted is simple

From first call to finished roof, we keep the whole process clear and tidy.

  1. 1

    Free roof inspection

We inspect the roof, by ladder or drone survey where access is difficult, check for underlying issues, and give you a fixed written quote with no obligation.

  2. 2

    Scaffolding & preparation

Where needed, scaffolding goes up and the site is protected, skips or waste routes agreed, and materials ordered to spec before work starts.

  3. 3

    Roof work carried out

Repairs, re-roofing or new installation carried out to specification, with the site kept tidy and safe throughout, including magnetic sweeps for nails and debris.

  4. 4

    Walkthrough & guarantee

We walk the finished roof with you, or share a photo report where access is restricted, confirm you're happy, and hand over your 10-year written guarantee.

Is it time?

Signs your GRP roof needs attention

  • Visible cracking or crazing in the surface, usually from a rushed or under-specified lay-up
  • Delamination or bubbling where the layers have separated
  • Staining or damp on ceilings below the roof
  • A chalky, faded top coat that's lost its UV protection

GRP vs EPDM rubber

Both are excellent, low-maintenance flat roof systems. GRP is fully seamless and rigid, ideal for smaller, more detailed areas like dormers and balconies. EPDM is a flexible membrane, better suited to larger, simpler roof areas where its stretch handles building movement well. We'll recommend whichever suits your roof's size and shape rather than pushing one system regardless.

Why Scarborough homeowners choose us

10-year written guarantee

Every roof we complete is backed by a full 10-year guarantee in writing. If it fails through our workmanship, we put it right at no cost.

Public liability and all relevant trade insurance cover every job we take on, so you're protected from the first ladder going up to the final inspection.

Our own team, no subcontractors

The roofer who quotes your job is the roofer on your roof. No labour-only gangs, no middlemen, no surprises halfway through the job.

10-year workmanship guarantee

Covers our labour and installation. If it fails through how we built it, we fix it at no cost.

Manufacturer product warranty

Materials are covered separately by the manufacturer's own warranty terms, we'll confirm the specifics for your chosen roofing system.

Full re-roof on our bungalow. Tidy team, exactly the quote we were given, and the finish is spot on. Two winters in and not a single issue.

Called out for a leak, found and fixed the same week, explained everything clearly and didn't try to sell us a new roof we didn't need.

FAQs

GRP Fibreglass Roofing questions, answered

Is GRP fibreglass roofing waterproof?

Yes, laid correctly GRP cures into one continuous, seamless surface with no joints for water to find. It's one of the most waterproof flat roof systems available, provided the deck was properly prepared and the correct number of layers applied.

How long does GRP roofing last?

Properly laid with a UV-stable top coat, a GRP roof typically lasts 25 to 30 years with very little maintenance. Failures within that window are almost always down to poor deck preparation or an under-specified lay-up, not the material itself.

Can GRP be laid over an old felt roof?

Only if the deck underneath is sound and dry. We inspect the existing roof first, if the deck has degraded, it needs replacing before GRP goes down, laying over a failed deck just hides the problem rather than fixing it.
